The project involved the refurbishment of approximately 600m² of mixed laboratory and office accommodation for Achilles Therapeutics. The project was delivered in two coordinated phases, beginning with a comprehensive landlord shell-and-core refurbishment to prepare the existing space for the subsequent specialist laboratory and workplace fit-out.

The works included the selective removal of existing Cat A elements and the installation of new partitions, ceilings, wall finishes and flooring. The laboratory areas were designed to Containment Level 2 standards, with associated office accommodation, ancillary support areas and tea points creating an integrated environment for scientific and administrative teams.

Existing mechanical, electrical and public-health services were modified and upgraded to support the laboratory use, with particular attention given to ventilation, containment, statutory compliance and the operational requirements of the scientific activities. The fit-out was planned to provide a safe, efficient and adaptable facility while making effective use of the available floor area.

The completed environment was designed to align with Achilles Therapeutics’ established workplace identity at its Hammersmith headquarters, providing visual consistency across the organisation’s estate. Through coordinated landlord and tenant works, the project created modern, flexible accommodation capable of supporting the client’s evolving research, laboratory and business needs.
