We were appointed as Project Managers, leading the design and construction teams from design inception through to handover and operation. Extensive stakeholder engagement was required to coordinate the needs of the RFU’s hospitality, events, media, commercial and operational teams, while ensuring that each facility provided an appropriate balance of quality, functionality, durability and brand identity.

Delivery took place within a live, operational stadium and was governed by immovable match and event dates. Careful phasing, detailed programming and close coordination with parallel stadium projects enabled the refurbishment to proceed without disrupting the events programme. The completed scheme substantially improved the quality and consistency of the West Stand’s VIP environment and successfully supported Twickenham’s preparations for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

The C01.3 project comprised the high-quality refurbishment of the West Stand’s principal VIP hospitality and media facilities at Twickenham Stadium. Forming part of the wider Twickenham Stadium Upgrade Programme, the works were delivered in preparation for the 2015 Rugby World Cup and were designed to improve the match-day experience in some of the stadium’s most prominent guest and stakeholder areas.

The project included the 400-seat Spirit of Rugby Restaurant, Members’ Bar, Council Room, President’s Room, Ante Room and associated foyers and circulation spaces. It also delivered a world-class Press Conference Room and a new Mixed Zone for player interviews, strengthening the stadium’s media capability and creating a more professional environment for international fixtures and major events.
